Create a new dashboard either from scratch or by editing an existing dashboard.

To create a dashboard from scratch, perform the following steps:

  1. Display the Dashboards window in the module that will have the new dashboard. This window is launched from the Reports menu.
  2. Right-click the My Reports folder and then click Insert. The system adds a new record to the table and a new node in the hierarchy.
  3. In the table in the right pane, highlight the default name for the new dashboard shown in the Dashboard Name column and then type the desired name for the dashboard.
  4. Click the Save button. The new dashboard now exists in the database.
  5. Click the Retrieve button. The system shows the new dashboard name in the hierarchy in the left pane. The next task is to add the reports to the dashboard.
  6. In the left pane, right-click the new dashboard and then click Edit Dashboard. The system displays the Edit Dashboard dialog box.
  7. In the left pane of the dialog box, locate the first report for the dashboard.
  8. Right-click the desired report and then click Add to Dashboard. The system places the report in the right pane.
  9. Repeat steps 7 and 8 for the remaining reports. If necessary, the arrows on the right side of the dialog box may be used to re-order the list of reports in the right pane. The first report in the table corresponds to the upper left corner of the Home window. Moving down the table corresponds to moving left-to-right and then down in the Home window.
  10. When the right pane lists all reports for the dashboard, click the Save button. The system closes the Edit Dashboard dialog box. The new dashboard is now configured and ready for use.

To create a dashboard by editing an existing dashboard, perform the following steps:

  1. Display the Dashboards window in the module that will have the new dashboard. This window is launched from the Reports menu.
  2. Right-click the dashboard to be modified and then click Edit Dashboard. The system displays the Edit Dashboard dialog box.
  3. To add a report to the existing dashboard, in the left pane of the dialog box, right-click the report to be added and then click Add to Dashboard. The system places the report in the right pane.To remove a report from the existing dashboard, in the right pane of the dialog box, right-click the report to be removed and then click Remove from Dashboard. The system removes the report from the right pane.
  4. If necessary, use the arrows on the right side of the dialog box to re-order the list of reports in the right pane. The first report in the table corresponds to the upper left corner of the Home window. Moving down the table corresponds to moving left-to-right and then down in the Home window.
  5. When the right pane lists all reports for the new dashboard in the appropriate order, click the Save As New button. The system closes the dialog box and creates a new dashboard record in the Dashboards window. The system assigns a default name to the new dashboard. If desired, change the dashboard name by highlighting the name and then typing the desired name.
