The Custom Calendars window is used to define templates that automatically create a list of working and non-working days. You may also manually specify any other non-working days (such as holidays) that are not covered by the template. This calendar of working and non-working days is then used for scheduling and creating work orders.

The Setup Custom Calendars window contains two panes and a field showing the calendar year:

• The left pane shows the available work-week templates. The name of the work-week template is shown in the first column. The second column shows the "rule" for how working days are defined (which are defined in the Calendar Type Setup window). This rule determines what days are non-working days. When you right-click a work week template, the system displays a shortcut menu. This menu contains the common commands along with the following special commands:

  • Create Calendar: When you select this command, the system uses the rule for the selected work week to assign each day in the year to be either a non-working day (designated by a zero in the Eff Hours column of the pane on the right side) or a working day (designated by setting the value in the Eff Hours column to the default number of hours for the work day, with the rule specifying the number of hours in a work day).

    Note: If the right pane already shows data, this command will overwite the existing data with new information.

• • Delete Calendar for the Year: When you select this command, the system deletes the calendar days in the right pane for the entire current year for the calendar selected in the left pane.
• The right pane lists all days in the year. The Eff Hours column shows the number of hours to be worked on a given day. Non-working days are automatically set to zero (and the working days to the default number of hours for the work day) when you select the Create Calendar command. To enter holidays or other non-working days not covered by the template, you must manually locate the date of the holiday and set the value in the Eff Hours column to zero.
