The Equipment Classification pane on the left side displays a tree view of the equipment classification codes. The pane shows two boxes beside the name of each type of equipment which indicate the following:
- The left box is used to expand and contract the hierarchy. + will expand the hierarchy and – will contract the hierarchy. If no sign is shown, then this node is the lowest node in the hierarchy and cannot be contracted or expanded.
- The right box indicates whether the type of equipment has its own PM schedule. A check mark indicates that it does have its own PM schedule. For example, a type of equipment called 1/2 Ton Pickup could be further subdivided into 4WD and 2WD. An unchecked box beside 4WD would indicate that it follows the PM schedule of the 1/2 Ton Pickup road type, while a check mark in the square beside 2WD would indicate that it has its own PM schedule that is different than the 1/2 Ton Pickup PM schedule.
When you right-click on a type of equipment in the hierarchy, a shortcut menu opens that contains the common commands along with the following special commands:
- Copy PM Schedule: This command copies the PM schedule of the selected piece of equipment to the clipboard.
- Define Its Own PM Setup: When an equipment type follows the PM schedule of its next-highest ancestor, this command is available. When available, this command overrides the PM schedule of the type of equipment that is next highest in the hierarchy, which allows you to establish a different PM schedule for the selected equipment type.
- Inherit Parent PM Setup: When an equipment type follows its own PM schedule, this command is available. When available, this command removes the current schedule and assigns the PM schedule of the type of equipment that is next highest in the hierarchy to the selected equipment type.
- Paste PM Schedule: This command copies the PM schedule on the clipboard (which was copied from another piece of equipment) to all selected records. In so doing, it overrides the existing PM schedule(s).
PM Checklist by Class Code
The PM Checklist by Class Code window configures the checklist items that need to be accomplished when performing a repair activity for a particular type of equipment. The items on the checklist are included in the Repair Order Report that is printed from the Repair Orders pane in the In Progress Window.
PM Checklist Window Description
The PM Checklist by Class Code window contains three panes:
- Class Codes: This pane shows all equipment class codes configured in your system. The codes are arranged in a hierarchy, and you can expand the hierarchy by clicking a plus sign.
- Activities: This pane shows all repair activities configured in your system. Note that the list of activities is extensive and not all activities can be displayed at one time in the pane. You should use the arrow buttons at the top of the pane to view additional portions of the list.
- Checklist: This pane shows the checklist items that must be performed for the repair activity selected in the Activities pane and for the type of equipment selected in the Class Codes pane. The checklist items are selected from a drop-down list, which is configured in the PM Checklist Item configuration table.
