The In-House Project window (also called the Maintenance Projects window in some applications) allows you to create project templates. Project templates are used in the creation of work orders and help ensure the uniformity and accuracy of the information in the work orders. They are particularly useful in ensuring that the costs associated with a work order are properly categorized in the accounting system.

A project template specifies the following information: asset type, activity or activities performed, and the account codes that properly categorize costs. When a work order is created using a project template, the fields for these data elements will be automatically populated.

Note: Projects are specific to a particular administrative unit. The administrative unit you select when you log on determines what projects are displayed in this window and hence are available for use.
