The procedure for inserting a new report into your My Reports folder (or one of its subfolders) is the same for the Tabular, Graph, Finest Partition, and GIS types of reports. You cannot insert a new report into the Public or Shared folders. See JasperReports for more information on those reports. Follow these steps to insert a new Tabular, Graph, Finest Partition, or GIS report:
- Open the Reports Management window
- Right-click the folder in which the new report will appear and then click the Insert command appropriate for the type of report you will be creating
- For all types other than GIS Maps and Finest Partition, the system displays a dialog box so you can select the table or view from which the data for the report will be taken
- For GIS Maps and Finest Partition, the system simply inserts a new record so the next two steps can be skipped
- In the pop-up box, find the record showing the table or view from which the data for the report will be taken and select it
- Select OK
This closes the pop-up and displays the new report in the folder that you right-clicked You can double-click the name of the report and type a new name for the report
Click Save to save the new report
You have created the record for the report, and now you must create the report itself.
- Right-click the report name and select Setup/Show Report. A configuration dialog box for the particular report type opens. See the following topics for more information:
