The Preventative Maintenance (PM) Schedule pane is located on the right side of the Preventative Maintenance by Class Code window.

To navigate to the Preventative Maintenance by Class Code window, follow the steps below:

  1. Click Inventory in the top banner menu
  2. Click Inventory Related Items in the drop-down menu
  3. Click Preventative Maintenance by Class Code

It lists the PM activities and when those activities are scheduled to occur for the equipment type selected in the Class Codes pane on the left side of the window. Available actions in this pane depend on whether the PM schedule is for the selected equipment type (in which case, the box beside the name of the equipment type is checked) or is inherited from the next-highest equipment type in the hierarchy (in which case, the box is unchecked):

  • When a check mark is shown, you can add, modify, or delete any of the information in the PM Schedule pane
  • When the box is not checked, the information is read-only

In the PM Schedule pane, the Activity column shows the PM activity to be performed. The PM Trigger and PM Parameters columns specify when the activity is to occur. The triggers can be one of the following:

  • Perform After N Days or After M Meter: The activity is performed after a user-defined number of days elapses or when the difference between the the meter reading from the last time the activity was performed and the current meter reading reaches a user-defined value - whichever occurs first
  • Perform After N Days: The activity is performed after a user-defined number of days
  • Perform After N Meter: The activity is performed when the difference between the meter reading from the last time the activity was performed and the current meter reading reaches a user-defined value

After selecting a trigger, the system displays a dialog box so you can enter the user-defined value(s). The values are displayed as numbers in the PM Parameters column in the format D;M (where D is the number of days and M is the meter reading). For example, performing an activity after 90 days or 3000 miles would display as 90;3000.

Note: The meter reading can be in hours or miles. Meter readings are recorded in the End-of-Month Odometer window. When the System Administrator runs the system job to update the meter readings, the readings are moved from this window and stored in the individual inventory records for each vehicle and piece of equipment. These new readings are then compared to the previous readings at which a PM activity occurred when you select the Refresh PM Queue command in the PM Needs pane in the Issue window. If the comparison indicates that the PM activity is due, then the vehicle or piece of equipment is shown in the PM Needs pane in the Issue window.

When you right-click an activity, the system displays a shortcut menu. This menu provides the common commands along with the following special command:

  • Define Argument(s): Allows you to modify the values shown in the PM Parameters column through a pop-up window with fields for the type of PM trigger. Enter the new value(s) and select OK to update when the activity is to be performed.
