1. Roadway Elements & Crash Inventory

By completing the exercises below, the participant shoul be able to open the Roadway elements & Crash Inventory window, review Segments, Intersections, Ramps, and Crash data.  Click Here for Additional Information on Roadway Elements & Crash Inventory.

Exercise 1. Roadway Elements & Crash Inventory

  • Open the Roadway Elements & Crash Inventory window.
  • Select and Review an intersection record.
  • Review a Crash record along with all of its attributes (i.e. Persons, Vehicles, etcs).

2. Screening Window

By completing the exercises below, the participant should be able to open the Screening window, setup and run a screening scenario. Click Here for Additional Information on Screening Scenario process.

Exercis 2. Screening Scenario Process

  • Open the Screening window.
  • Create and process/run a new screening secnario.
  • Select 1 or 2 (Screening) records that will be use for Diagnosis


3. Diagnosis Window

By completing the exercises below, the participant should be able to setup and run a Diagnosis. Click Here for Additional Information on Diagnosis process.

Exercise 3. How to Perform a Diagnosis

  • Open the Diagnosis window.
  • Choose any record in the Hotspot Location Details pane and setup the Diagnosis.
  • Run the Diagnosis


4.  Project Composition

By completing the exercises below, the participant should be able to create a project, link the Project Locations and Project Countermeasures. Click Here for Additional Information on Project Composition.

Exercis 4. Project Composition Setup

  • Open the Project Composition window.
  • Setup a new Project.
  • Link the project to a Project Location.
  • Create a new Project Countermeasure for the Project.


5. Countermeasures

By completing the exercises below, the participant should be able to create new treatment record in the Cuntermeasures window. Click Here for Additional Information on Countermeasures.

Exercise 5. Treatment setup for Countermeasures

  • Open the Countermeasures window.
  • Create a new Countermeasure record (i.e. Guardrail).
  • Open the Crsh Modification Factors Clearing House (CMF) Web page from the CMF Detail hyperlink.
  • Find the CMF value for the Guardrail and enter the result inthe Crash Modification Factor field.


6. Candidates for Project Location

By completing the exercises below, the participant should know how to  update the Economic Loss for a record. Click Here for Additional Information on Candidates for Project Location.

Exercise 6. Candidates for Project Location

  • Open the Candidates for Project Location window.
  • Select and update the Economic Loss for any record in the "Update Economic Loss" pane


7. Changing Project Status

By completing the exercises below, the participant should understand the workflow process of how a project status gets updated. - Click Here for Additional Information on How to Change Project Statuses.

Exercise 7. Changing a Project Status

  • Open the Project Composition window and change the project status from "Draft" to "Proposed".
  • Open the Proposed Projects window and change the project status to "Programmed".
  • Open the Programmed Projects window and change the project status to "Completed".
  • Open the Completed Project window and change the project status to "Approved".
