To set the full amount of a stock item and the level at which the item should be re-ordered:

  1. Open the Material Inventory window.
  2. If necessary, in the Material Class Codes pane, select the material classification code for the stock item and select . The Material List in the Inventory tab displays the stock items that match the selected classification codes.
  3. In the Material List pane of the Inventory tab, locate the stock item.
  4. Click in the Capacity column and enter the value for what constitutes a full amount of this stock item.
  5. In the row showing the desired stock item, click in the Threshold to Purchase column and enter the percentage of the full amount at which re-ordering should occur. Enter the percentage as a decimal value (for example, 15% is entered as 0.15). When you click another column, the decimal value is turned into a percentage value.

    Note: When the level of a stock item drops below the Threshold to Purchase value, the system displays a message to inform you that the amount of stock is low. If desired, instead of having a message displayed, you can configure the system to send an email. To enable this capability, enter the name of the mail host in the System Parameters window and provide the e-mail address you want to notify in the Email Address column of the record for the stock's owner in the Administrative Units window.
