The Share Inventory window shows the administrative units that are owners of assets that your administrative unit can also use in work orders. All assets of the other administrative unit are shared with your unit.

For example, Smith County is charged with maintaining the shoulders on Route 33 from milepost 23 to 56, but sometimes your administrative unit also maintains those shoulders. By including Smith County in the Share Inventory shortlist, you can generate work orders for this road section even though your administrative unit is not the "owner" of the section.

Add Administrative units to the selection list by right-clicking the window and selecting Edit Selection. This displays a dialog box from which you can select the desired administrative units. This command can also be used to remove entries from the list by de-selecting them in the dialog box. However, a more direct method for removing a single entry is to right-click the entry to be deleted and select Delete.
