Whenever a section data table in a data entry window contains columns with calculated values or values derived from data in other tables, then the Update Target Table command is available. This command allows you to select columns to update and recalculates the values or retrieves the values from the source table for existing records and non-location reference data columns.
- Select Update Target Table
Select the columns to update using the check box in the Select column
Note: Only data for the currently visible data set is updated (items that can be scrolled to or paged through to are considered visible). In other words, any filters that may have been set determine what data is updated.
- To select more than one column, hold down the CTRL key when clicking the check boxes of additional columns.
- To select a block of adjacent rows, select the check box of the first row, hold down the SHIFT key, and then select the last row of the block.
- To select or deselect all columns, right-click and use the Select All or Deselect All command.
- To further restrict what columns and data is updated, you can include a Where clause.
- Select OK and the selected calculated columns are updated using the current data from which it is calculated.
Note: The section limits of the section data table are not affected by this action. No rows (sections) are added or deleted when the Update Target Table command is used; only the attribute values for each section are affected.
