The Preventative Maintenance by Class Code window allows you to establish preventive maintenance activities for a specific type of equipment ("class code") and when those activities are scheduled.
To navigate to the Preventative Maintenance by Class Code window, follow the steps below:
- Click Inventory in the top banner menu
- Click Inventory Related Items in the drop-down menu
- Click Preventative Maintenance by Class Code
The window contains two panes:
- The Equipment Classification list which lists all current classifications
To expand a section click
and to collapse it click 
- The Activity schedule which lists all activities for the currently selected Equipment Classification and can be used to schedule new activities
There are two ways to define preventative maintenance schedules:
- By inheriting preventative maintenance activities from the nearest class code ancestor that has a set of PM activities assigned to it.
- By directly entering the set of preventative maintenance activities, which takes precedence over inheritance.
Note: These two ways are for equipment types. You can also specify a preventative maintenance schedule for a particular piece of equipment (overriding the preventative maintenance schedule established for the class to which the equipment belongs) by using the Preventative Maintenance by Inventory window.
