The Calendar pane at the lower right shows the amount of the activity selected in the left pane for each month of the year. The amount is an amount relative to the total amount performed over the entire year. Typically, all months total 100% so the value shown for each month is the percentage of the activity performed in that month.
The Calendar Importance column affects how closely the leveling optimizer in the Plan Matrix window approximates each activity's Activity Calendar distribution and determines how months that are assigned a zero value in the Activity Calendar are interpreted during leveling processes. The available values and each one's effect on leveling is given below:
- No Importance: The system will match the Activity Calendar distribution moderately. The system essentially ignores months assigned a zero value and assigns effort to any month as needed to fulfill the objectives of the leveling command.
- Rather Important: The system will match the Activity Calendar distribution closely. The system will not assign effort to a month assigned a zero value.
- Very Important: The system will match the Activity Calendar distribution very closely and will not assign effort to a month assigned a zero value.
