Create and administer contracts using the following steps:
- Contractors (and the asset types, activities, and administrative units with which each works) are defined in the Setup Contractors window.
- In the Contract window, the contract is defined by specifying what asset types, activities, administrative units, and accounting codes are associated with the contract. Once this information is defined, you select the contractor that will perform the contract. At this point, the contract is pending.
- Once a contract commences, return to this window (the Contract window) and change the contract status from pending to active. After saving this change, the contract will be listed in the Contract Plan window and will be available for use in the Work Orders window.
- In the Issue Contract Plan window, you define the tasks that will be undertaken in the contract. This window allows you to define when the activity will start, what will be done for what asset type, and the budget assigned to complete the activity. Once this information is entered and saved, you can generate work orders for the contract in the Create a WO from a Contract Plan window. (Alternatively, once a contract is active, you can directly generate work orders for the contract in the Day Cards window.)
