The Materials Classification Code window contains two panes: on the left, a tree view that shows the hierarchical arrangement of the codes and, on the right, a table view that provides additional information about each code. The tree view is expanded by clicking the plus sign 
, or contracted by clicking the minus sign (–).
When you select an item in the tree view or the table view, the system displays and highlights the record corresponding to that item in the opposite view.
When you right-click a row in the table view pane or a node in the tree view, the system displays a shortcut menu. This menu contains the following special command in addition to the common commands:
- Add: This command adds a new, subordinate node to the tree view and a corresponding record in the table view. See Insert a New Classification Code for an example of using this command.
