The panes on the right side of the Performance Guidelines window show the labor, equipment, and material resources that are used for the activity selected in the Activities pane. You can print these so they can be used as work guidelines. They can also be used as a basis for updating the Performance Guideline's unit costs in the Activities pane for labor, equipment, material, and overall.

The columns in these panes are described below:

  • Amount: This column in the Materials pane shows the amount of the material needed for the selected activity.
  • Equipment Category: This column shows the type of equipment used for the selected activity.
  • Involvement: When a crew is used for the selected activity, this column shows the fraction of time (expressed as a decimal number between 0.0 and 1.0) that the type of employee is expected to spend as a member of the crew. For example, if a supervisor only spends 20% of her time looking in on the crew, this column would be set to 0.2. The default value for this column is 1.0.
  • Labor Class Code: This column shows the type of employee (for example, Maintenance Technician, Grader Operator, etc.) that is needed to perform the selected activity. The types of employees are defined in the Labor Class Code window.
  • Material Master Code: This column shows the type of material needed for the selected activity.
  • Number in Crew: When a crew is used for the selected activity, this is the number of the type of employees in the crew.
  • Number of Units: This column in the Equipment pane shows the number of the type of equipment that is needed for the selected activity.
  • Unit Cost: In all Resource panes, the Unit Cost column shows the dollar cost of the resource per unit of work. How unit costs are calculated varies; see this topic for more information.
