The Labor tab shows the employees assigned to the work order selected in the Work Orders pane. This tab contains three panes: Employee Shortlist, Assigned Employee, and Employee Day Cards. These panes are described below.

Employee Shortlist Pane

This pane shows all employees on your labor shortlist, which is configured in the Labor Shortlist window. An employee is chosen for the selected work order by selecting the check box in the Select column next to the employee's name. The employee's name will then appear in the Assigned Employees pane. (You can remove an employee from a work order by clearing the check box.)

Note: If a crew is to be assigned to the work order, you do not need to select the crew members in this pane. Instead, in the Responsible column of the Work Orders pane, select the crew. Then right-click the crew name and select Assign Crew Members. The system will then automatically show all crew members as selected in the Employee Shortlist pane and will show the names of the crew members in the Assigned Employees pane.

When you select an employee's record and then choose Actions or right-click an employee's record, a menu is displayed. This menu contains the common commands along with the following special commands:

  • Show Schedule: This command displays the LEM Schedule Window for all personnel listed in the Employee Shortlist pane.
  • Edit Group Schedule: This command displays the Work Order Schedule Window, which lists all work orders to which the selected employee is assigned.

Assigned Employees Pane

This pane shows all employees assigned to the work order selected in the Work Orders pane. When you select an employee's record and then choose Actions or right-click an employee's record, a menu is displayed. This menu contains the common commands along with the following special commands:

  • Make Day Cards – This command creates labor Day Cards for all employees listed in this pane for the date range specified at the top of the window (or the duration of the work order if the duration is smaller, and the beginning and ending dates are within the specified date range) and displays them in the Employee Day Cards pane. After selecting this command, the system displays a dialog box so you can enter the dates for the Day Cards.

Note: If the system attempts to create a Work Order and an approved Work Order already exists, then an error message will be displayed. (If the existing Work Order is unapproved, the new Work Order replaces it.)
  • Show Schedule: This command displays the LEM Schedule Window for all personnel listed in the Assigned Employees pane.

Employee Day Cards Pane

Note: Work Orders cannot be approved unless the work order's account codes are valid.

This pane shows the labor Day Cards created for the work order selected in the Work Orders pane. It shows the number of hours the employee worked on the indicated day and the Time Reporting Code (TRC) for the hours.

You can approve an individual Day Card by selecting the check box in the Approved column. (You can also disapprove an individual Work Order by clearing the check box.) Alternately, you can select a group of Day Cards (by using SHIFT+click for rows that are together or CTRL+click for non-adjacent rows) and then right-click. This displays the following special commands:

  • Approve Selected: If you have sufficient authority, you can use this command to approve all selected Day Cards.
  • Delete Selected: This command deletes all selected labor Day Cards.
  • Disapprove Selected: If you have sufficient authority, you can use this command to disapprove all selected Day Cards.
  • Show Schedule: This command displays the LEM Schedule Window for the employee shown in the selected, active record. (If you wish to see all employees at one time, use the Show Schedule command found in the shortcut menu launched from either the Employee Shortlist pane or the Assigned Employees pane.)
