The procedure for inserting a new report into your My Reports folder (or one of its subfolders) is the same for the Tabular, Graph, Finest Partition, and GIS types of reports. You cannot insert a new report into the Public or Shared folders. See JasperReports for more information on those reports. Follow these steps to insert a new Tabular, Graph, Finest Partition, or GIS report:

  1. Display the Reports Management window.
  2. Right-click the folder in which the new report will appear and then click the Insert command appropriate for the type of report you will be creating. For all types other than GIS Maps and Finest Partition, the system displays a dialog box so you can select the table or view from which the data for the report will be taken. For GIS Maps and Finest Partition, the system simply inserts a new record; go to step 5 to continue.
  3. In the dialog box, find the record showing the table or view from which the data for the report will be taken and then click this record to select it.
  4. Select OK. The system closes the dialog box and displays the new report in the folder that you right-clicked.
  5. You can double-click the name of the report and type a new name for the report. Click the  icon to save the new report.

You have created the record for the report, and now you must create the report itself.

  1. Right-click the report name and select Setup/Show Report. A configuration dialog box for the particular report type opens. See the following topics for more information:
    1. Tabular Reports Configuration Dialog Box
    2. Graph Reports Configuration Dialog Box
    3. Finest Partition Reports Configuration Dialog Box
