The Material Inventory window allows you to view the available quantities of all inventory items relative to the "full" amount and track the inflow and outflow of material over time. Additionally, you can us View Prospective In_Out Flows to check on materials that have been planned or assigned in advance to ensure you have sufficient quantities available. The Material Inventory window has one pane and two tabs.
Material Class Codes
The Material Class Codes pane shows a tree view of the material class codes, which are created and maintained in the Materials Classification Codes Window. Use this pane to select the class codes of the materials you wish to view in the Materials List pane of the Inventory tab. When this pane is displayed, it shows the selection(s) that you made the last time you used this window. A checked box indicates those codes that are selected, while an empty box indicates those that can be selected. To change what is selected, right-click the code and select the desired command. After changing what is selected (and then retrieving data and saving), the system will remember what you selected and will show the same selections the next time the pane is displayed.
Inventory Tab
The Inventory tab shows all materials that have the classification code(s) selected in the Material Class Codes pane. The amount of the material on hand is provided, along with amounts to be added to or subtracted from inventory based upon pending transactions (this information is shown in the Prospective In and Prospective Out columns). Finally, the Threshold to Purchase column sets the value at which re-ordering of the material will occur, which is configured in Set Reorder and Full Amounts.
Transaction History Tab
For the material selected in the Inventory tab, the Transaction History tab lists all transactions involving this material. This tab provides two panes: Transactions Out and Transaction In. These panes show subtractions from or additions to the inventory of this material.
